Elttot Welsh Mountain Ponies Vicky Armitage and Georgie Tottle 63 Brewers Hill Rd Dunstable, Beds. (07905) 576274
Welcome to the Elttot Welsh Mountain Ponies Website. We are a small stud set in the heart of Bedfordshire surrounded by outstanding countryside. We have a small selection of ponies who all have a job to do, be it in-hand showing, ridden showing or driving. They are all ponies that bring amazing pleasure. We initially owned welsh cobs and had much enjoyment showing them under saddle however when circumstances changed we found ourselves becoming increasingly invovled with the Section A's. Vicky started working for Barry Shepherd of the Vervale Stud to whom we owe a great deal for intoducing us to the wonderful world of mountain ponies. We now have a small selection of ponies with whom we aim to follow our dreams. Visitors are always welcome to see our beautiful ponies but please do ring first. April 15th and the first outdoor show of the season, we took Ben and Mysti
to the Toddington Riding Club show to compete in the show juping. Ben was super and jumped a very confident fluent double
clear round to be take a very creditable 2nd place. Mysti then competed in the next two classes jumping double clear in both,
he was 4th in his first class and went on to win his next class by more than 4 seconds! So today was a great start for our
'welshie' boys!! Also this weekend Kate and Dan competed in the Warrier Adrenaline Run, both finishing inside the
hour, Dan was 21st and Kate came in 75th very proud weekend for our Human and Equine Families!
April is nearly upon us and there has been lots going on here at Elttot Stud. We have a new addition Slades Golden Broom our first Section B, he is a very pretty boy whom we hope to bring out in some novice classes under saddle. Billy is back in work , he has been ridden everday for the last 3 weeks with no issues!! Ben is preparing for his outing to the NPS Spring Festival with lots of hacking and sight seeing. Mysti had a short break due to a mysterious lump appearing on his back which has now gone away again so plans are back on track. Peeps will be off to stud in the next week or two and Glitz will be covered soon as well! 28th/29th January - Two Shows for us this weekend. No prizes at NPS Area 7 but a win for Ben at HCWPCA photos and report on the boys pages. JANUARY 2012 - HAPPY NEW YEAR! Well hasnt it come around quick! Who would believe with this mild weather we arre enjoying that we are in January? We have been making the most of the fabulous ground conditions by doing lots of fitness work on the hills around us. We have lots of dreams to fulfil in 2010 including Ben competing in some WHP Classes, qualifying for the Pictons again and hopefully competing in the finals this year. Mysti will also do some Workers this year and we hope to compete in some Dressage, SJ and XC events as well throughout the season - watch out for us on the WPCS Performance Awards this year!!!!! November saw Ben and Mysti going Showjumping at Liscombe Park EC. Mysti was a speed demon and won his class, Ben was a having a great time and came 2nd in his class. We all enjoyed our little eveing adventure and are building our confidence for next year. Well September is now upon us, Summer skipped by with not so much Sunshine as Rain Rain and more Rain! It has been the quietest year we have had for a long time but we have enjoyed a rest and are ready to take the winter season by storm! The individual pages are now being update so check out the progress of the gang! Here we are in June and what a crazy last few months it has been!!! No Shows for us durning June due to transport issues but we have a few coming up in the next couple of weeks, in the mean time Peeps will be visiting a chosen husband so we hopefully will have a 2012 baby!! May29th - a day that will not be forgotten in a very very long time! Mysti and Georgie ventured out the Herts County Show, there were nerves galore but they did each other proud and even came home with a rosette - it may not have been a red or even blue, but the fact that Georgie was riding in a county show ring on a horse that we were told would never compete at a show again meant more to us than any piece of ribbon. The whole family was there in support and even Daisy Mai was heard to be cheering on 'Grandma' Middle of May and we were all kept very busy - not preparing for shows or foaling as would be expected but it was another wedding - Kate and Dan tied the knot on the 14th May, with Georgie playing very important mother of the bride duties and Vicky being Bridesmaid. We all had a lovely weekend with lots of memories made
